The title says it all, did you ever give access to your account to anyone?

If so, to whom and why? Did you then change your password after they used your account?

I hope this poll will be more accurate, and there's room for people to propose their own answers. We can discuss results here. As I said in the poll introduction:

yeah, ask if you have been hacked and then you can determine how many got hacked and how many of them gave account info out.

Perhaps put in do you use these sites....(list a bunch of gw sites and some of the gold selling sites)

never. not even my best friends.

+ I have never been hacked, which might be somewhat related to that.

Edit: But I have access to 12 WoW/GW/LOTRO/EVE etc. accounts.

One GW account from a friend who quit, and then I often get the PW and login of people "to do something for them" ingame. Some of my friends share their keys within their inner friends circle, and I am totally against it. I also often say, change your PW, I do not want to know your login data anymore.

Why? Because then I cannot be blamed when they are "hacked" due to their silly account sharing practice.

Two of them lost their ebayed WoW accounts T6 level whatsoever and still... share their keys with friends, guild leader and so on. The guild leader was not known to them personally, only via teamspeak. In that case it was probably not him, but the sellers simply "stole" back their accounts.

This was their very own fault and stupidity, at least they learnt the lesson not to buy accounts anymore. But they still have not learnt the lesson NOT to share accounts, even with friends.

My friends are not totally dumb, unfortunately in this regard, they are... unfortunately.

I hope this real life example is a warning for other players out there.

Well, if the following one still requires a login, it means you won't be able to access them without logging in:

Yeah, I gave my account-info to one person.
Why? Because i love and trust that person with everything i own.
And no, i didn't change my password, when my friend does, i'm always notified.
We're free to use each other's accounts whenever we feel like it.

Did this REALLY need another thread? I mean, you could have just edited the OP of the other one, or something... plus, the other one wasn't dead, it had a lul of a few hours.

I don't think that we need TWO of this.

You should probably start a new thread to petition for the old one to be deleted, or the two to be merged if you will. (or report the thread to the mods...) I wanted a clean slate so that people ignore the old results. This is not supposed to be a lul thread, but well people these days...

never gave my gw info b/c none of my real life friend play
i gave my wc3 accnt info to a friend and they got it banned in tda lol but he did not mess up ladder record or try to steal it
but he also gave me his wow info but i never play that -.-

Yes, I did give a person my account info.
My husband and I know each others account info. We're not angry vengeful people so there's no worries that each of us would delete the others characters. I would never give anyone else access to my account, it doesn't really matter who they are they would never get that info. Besides, I would think if i can't trust my husband with my account then i have far more problems then a game is concerned.

I gave my account to my dog and now I can't get on because he is hogging all my playing time. Come to think of it, he has my l/p to my Guru account, also.

no one but me and anet know my password, however, my husband knows my loggin info as he helped me set up my account.
that being said.
no no one has my account info...I have never given it to anyone (including my husband!)
I have never had any problems

my husband: I had his password once because he was having problems with his keyboard and we tried to log in on my computer....I have since lost that information (and his log in I do know....when I pull up gw on his computer the remember me is checked....).....(very strange with what gaile said about retrying a password----we never had a long delay or nothing.....but we got his keyboard fixed very shortly thereafter)

so now no one knows our passwords...though we do know each others login name, no other problems except laggy internet connections
